Services for Older Adults Living at Home

Based on the gathered Medicare data, it appeared that 90% of the beneficiaries were non-resident and a majority of it comes from the elderly (aged 70-74 years) while the remaining population is much younger, primarily those between the ages of 65-69 years. To substantiate this, we take a concept from the Charles S. Mott Foundation and its ideal “Aging in Place” where they promoted environments that would support people as they get older through activities that would link them together and prevent the situation from happening. Here’s an overview of essential services for older adults living at home:

    • Speech therapy

 

2. Personal Care Services

 

    • Assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming

    • Local meal delivery programs

 

4. Transportation Services

 

    • Non-emergency medical transportation

5. Home Modification and Repair

 

    • Installation of grab bars and ramps

 

    • Widening doorways for wheelchair access

 

    • Home safety assessments
